Our various events & activities

Fundraising activities for LIGA MAC include ongoing volunteer work at the Liga MAC Used Bookstore and Thrift Shop and booths at seasonal local markets and events throughout the year.

Our major annual fundraiser is held each year in February. The event is a gala event funding a large portion of LIGA MAC’s Educational Support programs.

Another major annual event, the “Christmas Fiesta,” is held annually in early December. The event is open to the Los Cabos public and the only requirement for attendance is the donation of an unwrapped toy that does not require batteries. Gifts are gathered for children of families in LIGA MAC’s program. The “Christmas Fiesta” is followed by a Christmas Posada held at our Centro de Apoyo where the gifts are distributed, brightening the holiday season for low-income families.

The Liga MAC Used Bookstore and Thrift Shop is located on Paseo de los Marinos in the Colonia Chamizal neighborhood of San Jose del Cabo. See map. A converted residence houses LIGA MAC’s extensive collection of new and used popular and classic books. The Used Bookstore and Thrift Shop also gives LIGA MAC cookbooks, calendars and note cards, T-shirts, and seasonal items along with donated clothing and household items in good condition in exchange of donations. Donations of books and Thrift Shop items are welcome. We are open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8 am to 1 pm from November to April. The Bookstore and Thrift remain CLOSED from May to October.

Information Booths

LIGA MAC’s energetic and helpful volunteers staff an information booth and bookstore from 9 am to 1 pm each Friday at The Shoppes at Palmilla Farmers Market, and each Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm at the San Jose del Cabo Organic Market.
