LIGA MAC raises funds from our Used Bookstore and Thrift Shop and our market and event booths.
The LIGA MAC Used Bookstore and Thrift Shop is located on Paseo de los Marinos in the Colonia Chamizal neighborhood of San Jose del Cabo. See map. A converted residence houses LIGA MAC’s extensive collection of new and used popular and classic books. The Used Bookstore and Thrift Shop also gives LIGA MAC cookbooks, calendars and note cards, T-shirts, and seasonal items along with donated clothing and household items in good condition in exchange of donations. Donations of books and Thrift Shop items are welcome. We are open Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9 am to 1 pm from November to April.
The Bookstore and Thrift will remain CLOSED from May to October 2016. We will be back in November. In summer, books and in-kind donations for the thrift can be dropped-off at Wahoo RV Center, 166 Chula Vista, 23400 San José del Cabo, B.C.S. (near CFE).Ph (624) 142 3792; or at the Support Center in El Zacatal, located on the corner of Luis Castro & Margarito Sandez. Monday to Friday, 9am-1pm.
San Jose del Cabo and The Shoppes at Palmilla Seasonal Organic Markets.
LIGA MAC’s energetic and helpful volunteers staff an information booth and bookstore from 9 am to 1 pm each Friday at The Shoppes at Palmilla Farmers Market, and each Saturday from 9 am to 1 pm at the San Jose del Cabo Organic Market. Our volunteers give information about LIGA MAC services and community programs, accept donations and canvas for new volunteers. LIGA MAC volunteers also offers MAC cookbooks, calendars, cards, used paperbacks, and miscellaneous ítems in exchange of donations to help underprivileged families in San Jose del Cabo.
The Shoppes at Palmilla Farmers Market is open Fridays from 9 am to 1 pm November through April, and is located in the Palmilla Resort at Km. 27 of the Transpeninsular Highway. Vendors include organic produce, gourmet food, baked goods, books, arts and crafts and miscellaneous goods and services.
The San Jose Organic Market is open Saturdays from 9 am to 3 pm from November through April at Huerta Maria on the Las Animas Road behind downtown San Jose, adjacent to the Tropicana Jockey Club. The open air market features more than 100 vendors selling organic produce, dairy, baked goods, fish, poultry, prepared foods, arts and crafts, clothing, furniture, books, and healing arts services and products.
