The Liga MAC ESL program focuses on students 17-19 years old involved in Liga MAC’s Educational Support Program. The program was created to enhance the students’ English skills, both in the classroom and in their daily lives, by making the classes relevant, fun, and a safe place to learn and to complement what the schools are teaching in English classes.
It also helps to raise students’ awareness of the possibilities of what they can accomplish thereby building confidence and self-esteem, such as: Learning to speak in a group, improving language skills and expanding vocabulary, practicing pronunciation while reminding them that if they have an accent, they will still be understood, interacting with people from other cultures, working cooperatively with their peers, and raising their personal levels of expectations both in the classroom and for their future. The course is possible thanks to our enthusiastic volunteers and facilitators.
