Second Time Around / Donation Center: Located on Paseo de Los Marinos and Goleta Street at Colonia El Chamizal. Open Saturday and Tuesday mornings 9:00 to 1:00 from November to April. Work involves sorting, pricing and shelving books and used items. Volunteers are scheduled for specific days and times. A great place to meet people. Speaking Spanish is desirable.
Friday, Palmilla Market Booth: Fridays, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm from November to April. Meet and greet people coming into the market and talk about Liga MAC. Items for sale.
Saturday, Organic Market, San Jose: Saturdays, 9:00 am to 12:00 pm from November to April. Meet and greet people coming into the market and talk about Liga MAC. Items for sale.
Christmas Fiesta Committee – The Liga MAC event of the Holiday Season held at The Shoppes at Palmilla. First Tuesday of December. Information & sales table, live music, wine & appetizers served by donation, the Liga MAC Scholars Choir performs. No entrance fee. Guests bring unwrapped gifts focusing on students, such as backpacks and school supplies.
Annual Fundraiser Event: This gala event is held every year at a different venue to raise funds in the first week of February. Various committees are formed. Always need enthusiastic volunteers to promote the event and sell tickets.
ESL classes – Every Saturday morning, January to March, 10 am to 12 pm, our grantees are given ESL classes. An enjoyable experience spending time with Mexican youths and volunteers from all over. Planning meetings on weekdays are implied.
