Community Sponsor Profile: Baja Luna

Tucked away on the edge of the San Jose arroyo in an area of mango orchards is one of San Jose del Cabo’s best kept secrets. Event location, Baja Luna, hosts over 100 weddings annually plus numerous other private functions and fundraisers. On January 29th, for the second consecutive year, Baja Luna will be the location for an event benefitting Liga MAC. The “Tacos Tostadas & Tequila” event (TTT) is the brainchild of Baja Luna chef/partner and Liga MAC Board Director, Tadd Chapman. In addition to being on Liga MAC’s Board for over 8 years, Tadd is also an instructor in Liga MAC’s Health Through Education program where he shares his knowledge of economical and nutritious food preparation with Liga MAC’s families. At Christmas this year, the staff of Baja Luna provided turkey dinners for 50 of Liga MAC’s most deserving families.

The TTT event will feature unique gourmet taco and tostada creations styled by 10+ local chefs paired with tequila and wine offerings. Baja Luna’s spacious grounds have ample room for the event’s 300 guests to wander from food station to food station and enjoy table seating provided by Del Cabo Events. Live music by Soundays and continuous music by DJ Be-Productions will supply an evening full of music. Tadd guarantees that no one will go home hungry. Each event ticket includes 5 food selections and a welcome drink plus 4 drink choices. For the first time, VIP tables featuring a dedicated server, unlimited food and drinks plus priority lounge seating will be available. So that ticket holders can party responsibly, Terramar Transportation will provide transportation from a central location for a nominal fee for those interested.

The atmosphere of Baja Luna ensures a relaxed, fun and friendly evening of wonderful food, music and socializing. For more information and to purchase tickets go to www.ligamac.org or contact Elva at elva@ligamac.org.

Parting Comments

We have said more than once, that it takes a village to finance and support the students and programs of Liga MAC. The village in this case includes not just our many wonderful donors and volunteers but also our community sponsors like Baja Luna, Del Cabo Events, Terramar Transportation, the TTT chefs and many, many other local companies. These companies not only value the work done by Liga MAC to support local students but in many cases also hire Liga MAC graduates. Our successful community supported fundraising events allow our students to participate in life changing programs like English as a Second Language, music appreciation and Health Through Education. Please remember that when you patronize local businesses, you are also supporting Liga MAC.

With gratitude,

Maria Lindenberg, President
Liga MAC Board of Directors
